== Open Component Project ==

Hey, the [http://opencomponentproject.org/ Open Component Project] sounds like a very helpful project.

I wish you great success.

I hear that the KiCAD people are testing git.

They hope a version control system will make it

easier for people to pull the very latest version of the public Kicad libraries, and

easier for people to contribute new and improved footprints and schematic symbols to those libraries.

Would it make any sense to clone a copy of the KiCAD repository onto the OpenComponentProject.org server?

== naming pages ==

Here on OpenCircuits, I hope that people talk about their electronic projects.

They will inevitably use words or phrases that someone new to electronics won't understand.

Also, when explaining what they meant by one specific phrase (such as "LED matrix" or "POV display"),

they will likely use other words or phrases that someone new to electronics won't understand.

I prefer using those exact words or phrases as the titles for wiki pages,

as described at

[http://communitywiki.org/en/BestPracticesForWikiTheoryBuilding Community Wiki: Best Practices For Wiki Theory Building]

and

[http://communitywiki.org/en/TheoryBuilding Community Wiki: Theory Building].

Even though those words or phrases are often *not* what people would consider a "proper" title for a book or article.

So I expect 2 kinds of pages here:

* very specific pages about a project someone is working on, that hopefully get generalized enough that lots of people can use that documentation to build their own version of that thing (and several popular variations get documented on that page).

* more general pages that explain what ideas and techniques and components people mean by certain words and phrases they use on other pages, both project pages and other general pages.

Do we need a page here at OpenCircuits with localized tips for naming (and renaming) pages here?
