All too often, several spammers in a row hit the page, and the above process is necessary.

But in the special case where the page is currently full of spam, but the previous page had no spam, you can take a shortcut -- on step 3, hit the "undo" link.

However annoying spammers are make sure to check all revisions to upto the last good version. In order to not accidently delete valuable information.
A good cue that spamming is occouring is large additions ie +12,000 bytes etc..

1) Find the spammed article.
2) Click on the "hist" link.

3) Click on the "last" links until you find the last good edit.

4) Click on the good version.

5) Select "edit".
6) Write "rv" in the Summary field. (Optionally, put the source of the spammer (like 159.145.0.0/16 State of CA, Dept. of Consumer Affairs/USA = Spammer) in the Summary (helps keep track on trends on where it comes from).
7) Click on "Save page".
8) Done!
